Carcinoma misto papilar-folicular de tireóide na infância: relato de um caso

Abstract

 

We report a case of thyroid carcinoma detected at a pediatric service. This case report is justified since it presents an uncommon pathology in children and an unusual clinical status. We also review the etiology and diagnosis of the disease. The clinical investigation and the development of the disease are presented and the literature on thyroid cancer in children is reviewed. The need for careful investigation of children presenting unusual radiological findings is emphasized and metastasis from thyroid carcinoma should be considered among the diagnostic possibilities.
