Crianças que passam menos TT têm melhores medidas de atividade física<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0175"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">5</span></a> e maiores riscos à obesidade<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0180"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">6</span></a> do que aquelas que passam maiores TT. Por outro lado, acelerômetros podem examinar o TS total, inclusive seu efeito sobre as condições de saúde. Em adultos, maior TS total está associado com maior risco de doenças cardiovasculares.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0185"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">7</span></a> No entanto, em crianças, a relação do TS total medido via acelerômetros e problemas de saúde é menos evidente e, possivelmente, mais complexa. Por exemplo, o elevado TS total não está associado com a composição corporal.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0190"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">8</span></a> Além disso, Biddle et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0195"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">9</span></a> mostraram que o TT representa apenas uma pequena proporção do TS total. Em uma revisão sistemática, foram identificados 64 estudos que examinaram fatores associados do CS. No entanto, apenas 11 usaram acelerômetros para medir objetivamente TS total e TT autorreferido e nenhum desses foi feito com crianças brasileiras.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0200"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">10</span></a> Os 11 estudos encontraram associação significativa com idade, sexo, etnia, nível socioeconômico (NSE) e atividade física em crianças, especialmente em países de alta renda. São necessários estudos que usem medidas objetivas de TS em crianças de países de baixa e média renda, como o Brasil, para investigar os fatores associados em vários domínios desses comportamentos. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar os fatores associados do tempo sedentário total e tempo de tela em crianças entre 9-11 anos.</p></span><span id="sec0010" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0070">Material e métodos</span><span id="sec0015" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0075">Amostra do estudo</span><p id="par0015" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Estudo do tipo transversal multicêntrico feito em 12 países, faz parte do <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">International Study of Childhood Obesity, Lifestyle and the Environment</span> (Iscole).<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a> Detalhes do Iscole foram publicados anteriormente.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a></p><p id="par0020" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">O presente estudo se concentra nos dados coletados do Iscole Brasil, que ocorreu na cidade de São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo. Em 2013, o município tinha 149.263 habitantes, 1.557 crianças (812 meninos) de 10 anos.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0210"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">12</span></a></p><p id="par0025" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Após a aprovação do projeto pela Secretaria de Educação, foi apresentado para cada escola e ao conselho dos pais. Depois de obter as autorizações, o projeto foi implantado em cada escola. Todas as crianças da 5<span class="elsevierStyleSup">a</span> série do ensino fundamental foram convidadas a participar.</p><p id="par0030" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Devido à variabilidade do NSE entre as escolas públicas e particulares, o tipo de escola (pública <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">versus</span> particular), foi considerado como um indicador de NSE. Foram geradas duas listas completas de escolas públicas e particulares frequentadas por estudantes da 5ª série. As escolas foram selecionadas separadamente a partir de cada lista, considerou-se uma proporção de quatro (públicas) para uma (particular). Vinte escolas (16 públicas) foram selecionadas, a fim de obter uma amostra de 25-30 crianças de cada escola, com um recrutamento alvo de 500 crianças entre de 9-11 anos, conforme o cálculo amostral.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a></p><p id="par0035" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">A coleta de dados foi feita de março de 2012 e abril de 2013 e todas as avaliações foram feitas durante uma semana inteira por escola. Todas as atividades de coleta e gerenciamento de dados foram feitas e monitoradas de acordo com os procedimentos de controle de qualidade, implantado pelo centro coordenador do Iscole.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a></p><p id="par0040" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Foram avaliadas 564 crianças (277 meninos) que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão. Considerando os critérios de exclusão, a amostra final incluiu 328 crianças (169 meninos).<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0215"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">13</span></a> O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética da Universidade Federal de São Paulo.</p></span><span id="sec0020" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0080">Acelerometria</span><p id="par0045" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">O Actigraph GT3X acelerômetro (ActiGraph®, EUA) foi usado para monitorar objetivamente o TS total e atividade física de moderada a vigorosa (AFMV). O acelerômetro foi usado na cintura em um cinto elástico, na linha axilar média do lado direito. Os participantes foram incentivados a usar o acelerômetro 24 horas/dia por pelo menos sete dias, inclusive fim de semana.</p><p id="par0050" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">A quantidade mínima de dados do acelerômetro considerada aceitável para fins de análise foi de quatro dias, com pelo menos 10 horas/dia de tempo de uso, após a remoção na hora do sono.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRefs" href="#bib0220"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">14,15</span></a> Blocos de 20 minutos consecutivos de zero <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">count</span> foram considerados como não uso do aparelho e descartados das análises.</p><p id="par0055" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">A equipe de pesquisa foi para a escola para retirar os acelerômetros e verificou se os dados estavam completos com o <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">software</span> Actilife (ActiGraph's, premier actigraphy data analysis software, versão 5.6, EUA). Os dados foram coletados em uma taxa de amostragem de 80<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>Hz, baixados em períodos de um segundo, e foram agregados para períodos de 15 segundos.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0230"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">16</span></a> Usamos o ponto de corte de ≤ 25 <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">counts</span>/15 segundos para o TS total e ≥ 574 <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">counts</span>/15 segundos para AFMV.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0230"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">16</span></a> Para as análises, TS total foi tratado como uma variável contínua.</p></span><span id="sec0025" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0085">Tempo de tela (TT) autorreferido</span><p id="par0060" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">As crianças reportaram o TT através do <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Diet and Lifestyle Questionnaire</span>.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a> As crianças foram perguntadas sobre quantas horas assistiam a TV e quantas horas jogavam jogos de vídeo e/ou computador em dias de semana e fins de semana<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a> e as respostas foram: Eu não assisto TV, <<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>1, 1, 2, 3, 4 e ≥ 5 horas. A pontuação média do TT diário foi calculada da seguinte forma: [(horas de TV durante a semana x 5) +<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>(horas de TV nos dias de fim de semana x 2) +<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>(horas de jogos de vídeo e computador nos dias de semana x 5) +<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>(horas de jogos de vídeo e computador nos dias de fim de semana x 2)]/7. O TT autorreferido foi validado anteriormente em crianças.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0235"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">17</span></a></p></span><span id="sec0030" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0090">Fatores antropométricos</span><p id="par0065" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Os dados foram coletados por profissionais durante a visita na escola de acordo com procedimentos padronizados.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a> A estatura foi medida com precisão de 0,1<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>cm, com um estadiômetro portátil Seca 213 (Seca®, Hamburgo, Alemanha). O peso corporal e a porcentagem de gordura corporal (%GC) foram medidos com uma balança Tanita SC-240, analisador portátil de composição corporal (Tanita®, Arlington Heights, IL, EUA), após as crianças removerem itens pesados do bolso, sapatos e as meias.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0240"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">18</span></a> Duas medidas foram obtidas e a média foi usada na análise.</p><p id="par0070" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">O índice de massa corporal (IMC) (kg/m<span class="elsevierStyleSup">2</span>) foi calculado a partir da estatura e do peso corporal e posteriormente o z-score foi calculado com base nos dados de referência de crescimento da Organização Mundial de Saúde. As crianças foram classificadas como: abaixo do peso: <<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>-2DP; eutrófico: -2 DP a 1 DP; excesso de peso ><span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>+<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>1 DP a 2 DP; e obesidade: ><span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>+<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>2 DP.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0245"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">19</span></a> As medições da circunferência da cintura (CC) foram feitas na pele exposta no fim de uma expiração normal com uma fita antropométrica não elástica entre a margem da costela inferior e a crista ilíaca.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a></p></span><span id="sec0035" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0095">Questionários</span><p id="par0075" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">O <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Diet and Lifestyle Questionnaire</span> com informações relacionadas ao consumo alimentar, atividade física, CS, café da manhã, transporte para a escola e sono foi preenchido pelas crianças. O <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Demographic and Family Health Questionnaire</span> com informações sobre nível educacional dos pais, renda familiar e automóvel foi respondido pelos pais ou responsáveis. Também foi respondido sobre a idade das crianças, sexo, número de irmãos e etnia. O <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Neighbourhood Questionnaire</span> foi usado para capturar informações sobre as percepções dos pais ou responsáveis do ambiente social, alimentação e TVs. O <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">School Environment Questionnaire</span>, com informações sobre as características das escolas, políticas ou práticas que podem influenciar uma alimentação saudável e prática da atividade física, foi preenchido por um administrador da escola. Detalhes foram publicados anteriormente.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0205"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">11</span></a></p></span><span id="sec0040" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0100">Análise estatística</span><p id="par0080" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Foi calculada análise descritiva, inclusive média, desvio-padrão, frequência e porcentagem (%), o teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov e o teste <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">t</span> de Student para amostras independentes.</p><p id="par0085" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Foi usada a análise de regressão linear multinível, inclusive a escola como um efeito aleatório, para examinar as associações entre fatores associados e TS total e TT. Em primeiro lugar, todos os fatores associados foram usados em modelos univariados. Tipo de escola (pública e particular), sexo, etnia e escola (para permitir o agrupamento no nível da escola) foram incluídas como covariáveis nos modelos univariados. As variáveis que tiveram <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">p</span> <<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>0,10 foram incluídas em modelos específicos conforme o modelo ecológico.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0160"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">2</span></a> Em segundo momento, os fatores associados que tiveram <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">p</span> <<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>0,10 com TS total e TT nos modelos específicos foram incluídos no modelo final. No modelo final, usamos <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">p</span> <<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>0,05 para considerarmos as variáveis como fatores associados do TS total e TT. Escola, sexo, etnia, número de irmãos e renda familiar total anual foram usados como covariáveis nos modelos multivariados.</p><p id="par0090" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">A multicolinearidade foi testada através da correlação, tolerância e fator de inflação da variância (FIV). Os valores do FIV mais do que 5 foram considerados indicadores de problemas na estimativa do coeficiente devido à multicolinearidade entre as variáveis independentes.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0250"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">20</span></a> Para comparar os modelos, foram usadas as informações do critério de Akaike (ICA) e informações de critério de Bayesiano (ICB). As análises foram feitas pelo Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (versão 20.0).</p></span></span><span id="sec0045" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0105">Resultados</span><p id="par0095" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">As amostras das meninas (n =<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>159) e dos meninos (n =<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>169) das 20 escolas permitem detectar efeitos elevados com um poder estatístico superior a 90% nos modelos usados.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0255"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">21</span></a> Detalhes sobre os questionários, fatores associados, análise descritiva e informações sobre a amostra que não atendeu aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão foram fornecidas anteriormente.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0215"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">13</span></a> Das 328 crianças (média de 10,4 anos) que participaram do estudo e que tinham todos os dados completos, 51,5% eram meninos e 75,9% foram classificados como brancos.</p><p id="par0100" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">A média do TS total (min/dia) foi de 500,06 (69,0). Nos meninos, a média foi de 489,67 (69,2) e nas meninas 511,11 (67,3) min/dia (<span class="elsevierStyleItalic">p</span> =<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>0,005). Já em relação ao TT, a média foi de 234 (126) min/dia, 246 (132) nos meninos e 222 (126) nas meninas (<span class="elsevierStyleItalic">p</span> =<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>0,053), respectivamente. Somente 22,6% das crianças cumpriam as diretrizes de TT (≤ 2 horas/dia),<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0170"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">4</span></a> 18,9% meninos e 26,4% meninas (<span class="elsevierStyleItalic">p</span> =<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>0,105).</p><p id="par0105" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Em ambos os sexos juntos observa-se uma associação positiva do TS total com %GC, IMC e com a CC. A associação foi negativa com o padrão de dieta saudável e com AFMV. Observa-se ainda uma associação significativa com o nível de emprego materno. Nos meninos, o TS total foi positivamente associado com a %GC e com a CC e negativamente associado com a AFMV e com o nível de emprego paterno. Referente às meninas, observou-se associação significativa e negativa com o padrão de dieta saudável, quantidade de sono e com a AFMV. Encontramos associação positiva do tempo de transporte para a escola com TS total nas meninas (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0005">tabela 1</a>).</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="tbl0005"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0110" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Considerando ambos os sexos, observa-se uma associação positiva do TT com IMC e CC. A associação foi negativa com o padrão de dieta saudável e transporte para escola. Nos meninos, as variáveis significativamente associadas com o TT foram IMC, CC, padrão de dieta saudável e TV no quarto. Todas as associações foram positivas, com exceção do padrão de dieta saudável. Quanto às meninas, as variáveis com associação significativa e negativa com o TT foram o padrão de dieta saudável, transporte para escola e a existência de políticas ou práticas de atividade física. Observou-se também associação positiva e significativa com a renda anual total (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0010">tabela 2</a>).</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="tbl0010"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0115" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Nos modelos multivariados do TS total, observou-se a existência de problemas de multicolinearidade entre as variáveis %GC, IMC e CC. Foram testados modelos com cada uma das variáveis, juntamente com as restantes definidas a partir dos modelos univariados. A variável CC foi a que levou a um modelo com melhor ajustamento e por isso foi incluída nos modelos multivariados (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0015">tabela 3</a>).</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="tbl0015"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0120" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Considerando a amostra total, os fatores associados significativos e negativos foram padrão de dieta saudável e AFMV. Nos meninos, apenas a associação com a AFMV foi significativa. Já nas meninas, a associação foi negativa com o padrão de dieta saudável e AFMV e positiva com o tempo de transporte (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0015">tabela 3</a>).</p><p id="par0125" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Nos modelos multivariados do TT, também verificamos a existência de problemas de multicolinearidade entre IMC e CC. O IMC foi a variável que teve um modelo com melhor ajustamento e por isso foi incluída nos modelos multivariados (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0020">tabela 4</a>).</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="tbl0020"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0130" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Considerando toda a amostra, os fatores associados significativos do TT foram o IMC (associação positiva) e o padrão de dieta saudável (associação negativa). Nos meninos, os fatores associados significativos também foram o IMC e o padrão de dieta saudável. Além desses, meninos com TV no quarto tinham um efeito significativo no TT. Quanto às meninas, os fatores associados significativos foram o padrão de dieta saudável, tipo de transporte para escola e políticas ou práticas de atividade física (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0020">tabela 4</a>).</p></span><span id="sec0050" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0110">Discussão</span><p id="par0135" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">O padrão de dieta saudável foi o único fator associado comum do TS total e TT em ambos os sexos. Em relação ao TS total, os fatores associados foram padrão de dieta saudável e AFMV, em ambos os sexos. Nos meninos, apenas a AFMV foi significativa. Já nas meninas, a associação foi negativa com o padrão de dieta saudável e AFMV e positiva com o tempo de transporte. No que se refere ao TT, o IMC e o padrão de dieta saudável tiveram resultados significativos em ambos os sexos juntos e nos meninos. Também encontramos associação positiva com TV no quarto, nos meninos. Já nas meninas, os fatores associados foram o padrão de dieta saudável, tipo de transporte para escola e políticas ou práticas de atividade física.</p><p id="par0140" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Herman et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0260"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">22</span></a> concluíram que níveis mais elevados de TS total, medido via acelerometria, estão associados a níveis mais elevados de %GC, são determinantes para o ganho de peso e risco de doenças.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0185"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">7</span></a> Herman et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0260"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">22</span></a> reportaram uma associação positiva entre TS total e IMC de crianças canadenses. No entanto, descobrimos que o TS total não foi associado com a %GC.</p><p id="par0145" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Resultados apresentados por LeBlanc et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0265"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">23</span></a> mostraram que o padrão de dieta saudável é um preditor do TT. Os autores não encontraram resultados significativos entre TS total e padrão de dieta saudável. O nosso trabalho mostrou uma relação significativa entre a pontuação do padrão de dieta saudável e TS total e isso pode ser em parte devido ao aumento da ingestão energética, principalmente por meio de alimentos densos de energia.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0270"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">24</span></a> Meninos e meninas que relataram altos níveis de leitura ou trabalho de casa consomem significativamente menos energia do que aqueles que relataram baixos níveis de leitura ou trabalho de casa.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0275"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">25</span></a> Corroborando trabalho já publicado,<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0275"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">25</span></a> mostramos que escores mais baixos de padrão de dieta saudável são fator associado de TT em ambos os sexos juntos e somente nas meninas. Pesquisa anterior de Utter et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0275"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">25</span></a> mostrou que meninas e meninos que relataram maior TT consumiam 300-400 calorias/dia a mais do que aqueles que relataram TT menor. Embora não sejamos capazes de discutir sobre a quantidade (ou seja, número de calorias) do consumo de energia, a associação de TT com o consumo de alimentos com alta densidade energética, tais como refrigerantes, frituras e lanches saudáveis, é consistente com os resultados atuais, bem como outros trabalhos que usaram conjunto de dados do Iscole.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0265"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">23</span></a></p><p id="par0150" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Encontramos evidências de uma relação entre transporte para a escola (tempo e tipo) com TS total. Um estudo com crianças de 9-11 anos de países participantes do Iscole não identificou associação entre transporte ativo para a escola com TS total.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0280"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">26</span></a> Por outro lado, crianças que se envolvem em transporte ativo para escola e moram em um raio de 1-2<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>km de raio da escola acumulam menos tempo em CS do que aqueles que vivem mais perto da escola.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0285"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">27</span></a></p><p id="par0155" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Crianças com valores elevados de adiposidade<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0290"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">28</span></a> e baixo nível de atividade física<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0295"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">29</span></a> têm equipamentos eletrônicos no quarto. Os nossos resultados mostram associação positiva entre TV no quarto com TT nos meninos. O nosso estudo não mostrou associação entre TV no quarto com TS total. Atkin et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0300"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">30</span></a> verificaram que a presença de TV no quarto não está associada com o TS total, mas está associada com TT. A vizualização de TV, por exemplo, pode ser um indicador geral de estilo de vida sedentário,<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0195"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">9</span></a> pode ser apenas um indicador do tempo total do CS.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0260"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">22</span></a></p><p id="par0160" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Este manuscrito tem alguns pontos fortes e limitações. Acelerômetros são instrumentos válidos para medir diferentes intensidades de atividade física e o TS total de crianças.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0220"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">14</span></a> No entanto, está bem estabelecido que o monitor colocado no quadril é menos eficaz para distinguir posições sedentárias, como deitado ou sentado. Além disso, não conseguem capturar com precisão atividades feitas com o tronco. Alguns fatores associados do TS total e do TT foram baseados em relatos. É possível também que esses fatores associados sejam exclusivos das crianças do município, devido à não representatividade da amostra. O cuidado deve ser cauteloso na generalização dos resultados para outras populações. Mesmo que o estudo tenha envolvido 20 escolas, não fornece uma amostra representativa nacional. A causalidade não pode ser determinada a partir de dados transversais.</p><p id="par0165" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Este estudo verificou uma ampla variedade de fatores associados do TS total e TT em crianças de São Caetano do Sul. O único fator associado comum do TS total e TT foi o padrão de dieta saudável. Para o TS total, os fatores associados encontrados foram o padrão de dieta saudável e AFMV, isso em ambos os sexos. Nos meninos, apenas AFMV foi associada. Já nas meninas, o padrão de dieta saudável, AFMV e tempo de transporte para escola foram considerados fatores associados.</p><p id="par0170" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Já para o TT, IMC e padrão de dieta saudável foram considerados fatores associados em ambos os sexos juntos e somente nos meninos. Nos meninos, TV no quarto também foi considerada associado. Já nas meninas, os fatores associados foram padrão de dieta saudável, tipo de transporte para escola e políticas ou práticas de atividade física. Esses resultados devem ser usados por profissionais que pretendem implantar intervenções para reduzir o CS de crianças. As for the screen time, the associated factors were body mass index and healthy dietary pattern (both genders). In boys, the associated factors were body mass index, healthy dietary pattern, and television in the bedroom. Já para o tempo de tela, os fatores associados foram o índice de massa corporal e padrão de dieta saudável (ambos os sexos). Nos meninos, os fatores associados foram o índice de massa corporal, o padrão de dieta saudável e televisão no quarto.
